Congratulations to former drumming student Finlay Mayers who was one of the ten finalists in this year’s UK Young Drummer of the Year competition. Finlay studied drums at Portobello Music School from Primary 3, completing his Rockschool Grade 8 exam by the age of 12.  He went on to study advanced drumming technique at Junior Napier Music for a couple of years and is now working on developing his own unique style.

Now in its 17th consecutive year, the competition provides an opportunity for young drummers aged 16 and under to showcase their talents to a panel of judges and in front of a live audience.
